If an owner acquires another team's RFA during RFA Bidding,
1. via a 'not matching' or no post (or such) in the time frame, AND 2. the winning bid is $40 or more (for a batter or SP qualified) OR 3. the winning bid is $20 or more (for a RP only qualified)
the player may not be waived by any team until the opening day of the season.
Note: If there is a trade of rights, so that the highest bidder is the rights owner when matching, the player will not meet 1. above.
Exception: If the player has a new reason for being waived (injury or suspension or rehab setback or arrest, etc.) after the final bid and is not expected to play until after April 30, the player may be waived.
The reason for this rule is to maintain the integrity and spirit of RFA rights and this league. An owner should not be able to strip another team's RFA rights with a super high bid and then waive the player.
