I would think just as any draft these draft positions could be dealt for in deals. Another avenue the teams could better themselves .

I think a "Rule 5 drafted player" could be traded (either alone or as part of a package) after selection but I think the teams actually participating in the draft should be limited to bottom 8. I prefer to limit trades in this league to players as opposed to players and draft positions.

I like the Rule 5 draft Idea.

Another Idea I would like to see talked about is a Short and limited Minor league draft. I'm thinking 5rd minor league draft. Each player can only be kept 3yrs before they need to be added or dropped. A set salary and price could be assigned to any signed minor player added to the roster.

Yes I know we can currently bid and add minor league guys, but I like drafting and this would give every team a chance to find talent and hold them without using their 40 man roster or money.

Glad I'm getting some love on Rule 5 draft. I don't like leagues that are top heavy.

In regards to a draft? Not sure you incorporate a draft . Issue is especially with only a 3 year deal. Some of theses guys won't make it to bigs in 3 years. Defeats the purpose. Only top minors are even on rosters for most part.

So what I would propose instead would be a triple aaa area of our roster where the minor would have their own cap. Once you promote to big boy roster he's there to stay kinda thing?

Thoughts on that instead of draft ?

What a f---ing hypocrite I am. I'm proposing a rule 5 draft then downplay a different form of a draft. Sorry brotha. Just got home and read my post again. I love drafts also.

I am skeptical about a minors as again are you going to draft that high school kid whose 3-4 years away? What happens when the 3 yr contract up? We would have to allow regular max 5. But even so you get 1 maybe 2 years of production and that's the ones who produce right away to make it fantasy worthy.

I suppose you would then have RFA rights but if dudes sweet he's going $50+ and around and around we go...let's dig deeper into this though see what we can formulate as an option to vote on.
