So explain not only your idea, but how it will benefit all 14 owners moving forward. Then we vote next week!!!

Ok I have couple fun ideas that I've thrown around in leagues before that I carry around see if they would benefit others.

My first idea I'd like some chatter on never gains a lot of ground but maybe here.

Rule 5 draft every year. How it would work is every year at the end of the World Series we would before we designate RFA for next year hold a draft. For at least bottom six if not all non playoff. That I'm not sure on yet.

But what the playoff teams or top 8 would do is designate 5 guys for the draft. They can be anyone. They can be guys that will be RFA next year or salaried guys on 40 man.

Those players would go into rule 5 draft. Which in order of worst to best those teams get to pluck a guy if they want. One or two rounds.

Why you say would anyone vote for this? Well what is one of the biggest issues with leagues long term. Turnover. Bad teams say fuck it. Free league need to devote a lot of time and my team stinks. This is an avenue to give troubled teams another way to better there roster other than bidding crazy money on a guy to steal which incapacitates the team for that year getting other guys. IMHO.

Why would a playoff team vote for this? Well probably not but don't we all have 5 guys mostly will be RFA that we are probably not looking to keep? Well one mans treasure you know!! Is this that big of a deal? No but it could help another team. Who knows. At most you lose two dudes. Maybe Not a solution but an idea?

Question about the Rule 5 draft. Once drafted what would the player salary and contract length be? If drafted as a Rfa would he still be RFA or assigned a set contract?

Kinda like a waiver claim you would carry his contract over. Make him a qualifying offer or you would then have his rights .

Ok so Rule 5 draft was once again pushed under the rug. I'd say at this point we have no rule changes for this year. None were brought up for discussion.

Haven't been in the last week. I kinda like the Rule 5 draft. But I'd say less exposed players maybe 2 or 3 tops from the playoff teams (top 6). Two rounds for the bottom 8 to pick or pass.

As you say it will help a bit to even up the league.

Ooooh yeah let's go with this little more...it's a neat idea. Yes I said neat. Yeah listen it's a crapshoot at best but so is the real one. Let's say one team hits on one guy a year it's worthwhile and keeps ailing teams another avenue and "hope"...

So proposed Rule 5 Draft. Every year Playoff teams only commit 3 40 man roster players to draft. Can be impending RFA or salaried . Each of bottom 8 will have 2 choices. They can pick or pass. Will hold draft at Annual Winter Owners Meetings.
