well a player can't be bid on during the waiver period..so if you can't bid where else would it be man? Once a player clears waivers he is a free agent ["Unrestricted free agents are players which may be bid on, with no other team having matching rights. Players that are not on an roster are unrestricted free agents. Players who have been waived and remain unclaimed and whose contract has ended are unrestricted free agents. Players who have been waived and remain unclaimed and whose contract has not ended, may be bid on as unrestricted free agents. "] ... The restriction against bidding on your player, I believe, applies to the first 24 hours of the 48 waiver period so a team can not bid or place a claim on a player during the first 24 hours of the 48 hour waiver period if that team waived the player which makes sense as it does not allow to use their better waiver position to hold onto the waived player. ["After waiving a player, a minimum of 24 hours is required before the waiving team can reclaim him."] The paragraph in question states "If a player is not claimed during the waiver period, he may be bid on as a free agent."
