The list has been updated, subject to finalization of contracts of newly signed players.
The list has doubled from last year, due to the tremendous amount of cash available to owners in the offseason.
These players, if waived, CANNOT be acquired this season for less by the original waiver.
Note that Gerrit Cole appears twice with different $ values. He was waived by the Red Sox with a $60 CAP hit. He was signed in UFA for $40. The Red Sox may not acquire him this year for less than $60. A Red Sox trade for the $40 Cole this season would be illegal.
